Full-TimeWeb Developer – Falmouth (PJ)
Specialist design company is looking to recruit an energetic and forward thinking web developer to work on our various projects who will bring technical excellence and innovation to the businesses, Working as part of their busy Cornwall team. Tasks will be front-end heavy, but back-end experience is also desirable and full stack an advantage.
The firm currently have eight websites of varying size including four e-commerce sites; a major new online project is about to be launched. Also a planned focus on SEO development and digital marketing in the coming 12 months.
The successful candidate will build, redevelop and maintain the company’s websites including SEO element, maintain other digital systems such as stock control solutions and magazine subscription services, assist with the technical management of their social media platforms and contribute to the continued success of the group by becoming an integral part of the team.
In-depth understanding of the web development process from design to deployment
Proven experience as a front-end developer
Understanding and experience of responsive web design
WordPress backup system knowledge
PHP coding knowledge for themes and CMS customisation
Experience of WooCommerce or similar
Knowledge of CXP, CRM, or CMS platforms
Web domain set up and basic DNS management
cPanel & WHM configuration
Email trouble shooting
Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
Transactional facilities: online payments and e-commerce systems
Optimising web content and SEO
Strong ICT skills, advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite
Experience of stock control systems with integrated accounting an advantage
Some experience in graphic design an advantage, particularly use of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Some experience of digital marketing an advantage
Beneficial skills, but not required for consideration
Backend development knowledge
Advanced PHP knowledge, e.g. creation of modules for existing CMS or creation of custom systems
Knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB SQL, XML & JSON
Linux server administration
Wordpress performance optimisation
The individual will be expected to have
Direct professional experience of all the above and/or an applicable diploma, degree or professional qualification
A passion for online service delivery
Customer experience awareness
Strong communication, written and numeric skills
Motivation to succeed in a competitive industry and a sound work ethic
Team player ability whilst being autonomous in your subject within a small team
Extremely high attention to detail

Problem solving ability
A full clean driving license and own vehicle
