Permanent Purchasing Co-ordinator – Plymouth
We are looking for a a Purchasing Co-ordinator to join one of our clients in the Plymouth area. The successfull appointee will be a key part of the stock control team, taking responsibility for stock control and maintenance of the inventory and working closely with key departments such as Engineering, Processing and Operations.
To be successful, you will ideally have a recognised Warehousing qualification (such as NVQ 3) and experience and will be conversant in use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (understanding of advanced spreadsheets is essential) and will be familiar with the use of a Resource Planning System. With wide ranging responsibilities, you will need to maintain close relationships with all departments, liaising effectively to ensure that stock levels are maintained and requesitions raised to ensure that business activities can proceed without delay.
Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, you will need to deputise for them in their absence, take on warehousing duties as required and operating material handling equipment (such as forklift trucks).
In summary you will:
Have a warehousing qualification.Be able to operate a forklift or similar equipment. Assume duties of warehousing staff as required. Be IT literate, specifically with experience using Enterprise Resource Planning system and Microsoft Office. Be fully experienced with all aspects of Invoicing and raising of requisitions. You will also need to work closely with the finance team to identify and resolve invoicing anomalies. Manage acceptance and distribution of deliveries to site. Monitor and analyse activities on site to ensure that stock is ordered and received in good time to support all activities. Identify supply or quality issues and report them to the Supply Chain Manager.
