Business Development Manager
Exeter – South West patch
Basic salary £25-30k (possible negotiation) + uncapped commission
Looking to work for a highly successful, established, growing, creative company and be instrumental in their success? You’ll be the only sales person in the company and fully responsible for acquiring new business from that first contact right the way through to the close – although the senior team would there to support you in client meetings in terms of the ‘technicalities’ of the service. Whilst there are proposal templates and some guidelines in place, you can pretty much do things your way!
The company are clear on who their prospects are, so you’ll have clear goals. You’ll be responsible for the sales strategy and will own/manage the sale process and have total accountability for the success of it.
The successful candidate will be a likeable new business sales professional with proven experience in new business generation, gained within a professional services environment. You’ll be self-motivated, driven and someone who gets a real sense of excitement and achievement when given responsibility for owning and growing new business activity.
You’ll also be someone who has strong document writing skills and be able to write compelling proposals and other relevant documentation.
Development, implementation and delivery of an effective sales strategy
Management of end to end sales process from prospecting to closing, including the production of proposal and pitch documents
Researching target audience to develop relationships with key prospects and generate qualified appointments
Managing CRM database including inbound sales opportunities and own network of key prospects
To work with the business leaders to use client insight to inform and influence the future business model
Produce regular reports on progress and pipeline to inform the business leaders and enable planning and decision making
Represent the company at meetings, networking and other relevant events
The role requires someone that has:
Demonstrable experience of owning and closing face to face sales
Experience in selling service solutions (Experience in a marketing environment would be a distinct advantage)
Experience in influencing and selling to senior decision makers
Exceptional presentation skills (both written and verbal)
